Pub: April 13, 2021

The Civil Service Examination (CSE) are considered to be the most challenging examinations in India. More than 10 lakh candidates apply for this competitive examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to recruit the brightest minds in the country for various services that assist the Government of India including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Police Service (IPS), and the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) to name a few. But out of the lakhs of applicants, only a few aspirants becomes successful in their pursuit in their UPSC dreams.

For this reason, the examination is seen as an unachievable dream by the Indian public. The people who qualify are respected and valued beyond comparison. To be an IAS officer means that you have dedicated your life to help the society. In Kerala, Malayalis identify IAS officers through movies and actors like Suresh Gopi or Mammooty who serve and save the nation while delivering heroic dialogues.

But over the years, the thought that the civil services where unattainable was replaced with hope and opportunities. This was pioneered by steadfast individuals took over the administrative sector of India in a wave. They were Malayalis who worked hard and qualified the examinations. And as each year passed, more and more individuals from Kerala were dominating as Civil Servants.

Now, youngsters believe that the coveted position is within their grasp because of enthusiastic leaders like Lipin Raj (IRS) (Divisional Personnel Officer, Madurai) ,Prasanth Nair IAS (Private Secretary to the Union Minister of Tourism) and Kerala’s very own P.
